Roseville sends 58,000-square-foot Sierra View shopping center back to Planning Commission
The Roseville City Council on Wednesday sent a planned west Roseville shopping center back to the Planning Commission after city staff said a neighborhood group's letter, received the day before, raised issues that need review and correction.
The council voted 5-0 to refer the Sierra View Shopping Center back to the commission, which approved it Aug. 13. City staff's written report had recommended that the council deny the group's appeal and keep that approval in place.
The group, Protect Roseville Neighborhoods, appealed the commission's decision Aug. 24. It argues the city should have ordered a new environmental study instead of updating one from 2010. The group says the area has changed since then and the update did not adequately examine how the center would affect nearby homes.
