Key points
- Planning Commission review Thursday. The Planning Commission will consider the proposed Sierra View Shopping Center on Thursday, August 13. No construction timeline or opening date has been announced.
- Seven buildings on 14.5 acres. The center would sit at the southwest corner of Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Fiddyment Road. Plans show seven single-story buildings totaling more than 58,000 square feet.
- Grocery, restaurants and fuel. Plans include a 23,000-square-foot grocery store, two more retail buildings, three drive-through restaurants and a 24-hour, eight-pump fueling station with a convenience store. One drive-through is planned as a coffee shop. No tenants have been announced.
- Traffic impact estimated. Engineers estimate 828 evening peak-hour trips, of which 354 would be new. The developer would have to build a traffic signal, new turn lanes and other roadway improvements.
- Near other projects underway. The site is directly across the intersection from a Safeway-anchored shopping center under construction. It would also sit next to a 192-unit affordable apartment development that is under construction.
