Wilton Rancheria, owner of Sky River Casino, announces plans for a state-of-the-art 300-room hotel set to be completed by 2027.

After nearly two years of operation, Sky River Casino in Elk Grove is now looking to expand.

The owners of the casino, Wilton Rancheria, have recently announced a large 2-phase expansion plan that will include the construction of a multi-story, 1,600-space parking garage with enhanced valet service, a state-of-the-art hotel featuring 300 rooms, an outdoor pool, a day spa, as well as event and entertainment space. The plan also includes adding 400 new slot machines, further enhancing the gaming experience for visitors.

The construction of the parking garage is expected to break ground this year and be complete by 2025, while the hotel and additional amenities are projected to be completed by 2027. This expansion is set to bring 200 new jobs to the Elk Grove area, contributing significantly to local employment.

The $500 million casino opened its doors in August 2022. It is conveniently located off Highway 99 and occupies a site that was once intended for a shopping mall. The mall was partially built, but later, the project was abandoned and demolished to make way for the new casino. Sky River Casino has since become a landmark in Elk Grove, drawing visitors from across the region.

Sky River Casino boasts over 100,000 square feet of gaming floor, featuring 2,100 slot machines, 80 table games, and 18 upscale restaurants, bars, and lounges. The casino employs approximately 1,600 people, making it one of the largest employers in Elk Grove.

The expansion is seen as a strategic move to enhance the casino's offerings and appeal, positioning it as a premier destination for both gaming and entertainment in Northern California.

In addition to the planned expansions, Wilton Rancheria has been actively acquiring more land around the casino. The tribe has been on a buying spree, securing over 100 acres that will house future expansions.
