## Key points

- **Recovery ordinance extension proposed.** On September 10, the Planning Commission voted to recommend keeping El Dorado County's Caldor Fire recovery ordinance in place until October 1, 2029\. It is currently set to expire this December.
- **Board of Supervisors must approve.** The extension still needs approval from the Board of Supervisors, which has a hearing scheduled for October 20.
- **Temporary housing would continue.** Eligible residents could keep living in permitted RVs and mobile homes on their properties while working toward permanent housing. Insured and uninsured homeowners can qualify.
- **More time for permits, with fees waived.** Survivors would have more time to apply for rebuilding permits with eligible county fees waived. Qualifying rebuilding permits would continue to receive priority processing.
- **Separate rebuilding programs exist.** Title 25 lets eligible Grizzly Flats and Phillips-area survivors rebuild under more flexible rules. A Grizzly Flats Rebuilding Program offers up to about $73,000 in loans, forgivable after 5 years if requirements are met.
